We are pleased to announce a workshop on „Parallel Simulation with MPI, Trilinos and FROSch“ (Sept. 2nd to 4th, 2024) at Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Freiberg, Germany. It is aimed at students on the master of Ph.D. level and Postdocs. Previous knowledge of MPI is not necessary but basic programming skills in C/C++ are an advantage.
The workshop will take place at the University Computing Center URZ (Bernhard-v.-Cotta Str. 1, 09599 Freiberg) Room 1203 (PC Pool).
In the workshop, we plan to cover the basics of parallel programming with MPI, the open-source software library Trilinos (for parallel linear algebra), and the parallel overlapping Schwarz solver FROSch. The variational formulations will be implemented using the open source finite element library deal.II which interfaces to Trilinos.
