SUMMARY:Introduction to Science Communication: Bridging the Gap between Res
 earchers and Society
DESCRIPTION:Content description\n\nIn an era defined by a strong divide bet
ween the scientific community and the wider society\, dialogue between the
se realms appears elusive\, leaving many researchers feeling powerless and
overwhelmed. Even in personal conversations with family and friends\, res
earchers often struggle to find common ground and effectively convey their
knowledge.\n\nScience Communication offers a promising solution to this p
roblem. This workshop aims to introduce participants to the fundamental pr
inciples of science communication. Together\, we will explore crucial topi
cs such as identifying target audiences\, selecting appropriate mediums fo
r effective communication\, and presenting scientific concepts in a compre
hensible manner. Additionally\, we will explore alternative approaches tha
t can foster improved dialogue between science and society.\n\nFacilitatin
g this workshop is Dr. Maia George\, a dedicated former researcher special
izing in the ethical and political philosophy of science. With expertise i
