SUMMARY:Introduction to Science Communication: Bridging the Gap between Res
 earchers and Society
DESCRIPTION:Content description\nIn an era defined by the pandemic and clim
 ate change\, a stark divide has become apparent between the scientific com
 munity and the wider society. Dialogue between these realms appears elusiv
 e\, leaving many researchers feeling powerless and overwhelmed. Even in pe
 rsonal conversations with family and friends\, researchers often struggle 
 to find common ground and effectively convey their knowledge.\nScience Com
 munication offers a promising solution to this problem. This workshop aims
  to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of science commun
 ication. Together\, we will explore crucial topics such as identifying tar
 get audiences\, selecting appropriate mediums for effective communication\
 , and presenting scientific concepts in a comprehensible manner. Additiona
 lly\, we will explore alternative approaches that can foster improved dial
 ogue between science and society.\nFacilitating this workshop is Dr. Maia 
 George\, a dedicated former researcher specializing in the ethical and pol
 itical philosophy of science. With expertise in science communication\, so
 cial media within academia\, scientific reflection/philosophy\, Maia is co
 mmitted to advancing the realms of science\, research\, and their respecti
