Job Offer: Academic Assistant at the Institute of Mining Engineering and Special Civil Engineering

University-Internal Job Offer

The Institute of Mining Engineering and Special Civil Engineering is looking for several Academic Assistants fluent in Dari/Farsi (Persian) to assist, fix-term, with the technical-educational training of 20 Afghan Mining Inspectors initiated by the GIZ (Society for International Cooperation).
Payment: as per TU-Bergakademie Freiberg hourly-rates for Academic Assistants
Work Scope: 40h/20h per month
Fixed Period: 2 months (period October 15th until December 15th, 2015)

Your task will be to look after 20 prospective Mining Inspectors of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum Kabul and comprises the following duties:

  • Translation from German/English into Dari/Farsi during lectures, excursions, periods of practical training (training mine)
  • Daily routine assistance (shopping, consultations, …)

What is required of potential candidates?

  • Bachelor degree in Geosciences/Mining or the like, alternatively current Master’s degree studies in above mentioned fields of study at TU Bergakademie Freiberg
  • very good, also subject-specific, German and/or English language skills
  • real fluency in Dari/Farsi (Persian), native speakers preferred
  • intercultural open-mindedness
  • ability to work in a team and temporal flexibility
