The BHT – FREIBERGER UNIVERSITÄTSFORUM serves as a forum for professional dialogue between science, business and society. In several specialist colloquia, participants discuss issues relating to resource extraction and processing and learn about current research from all faculties.
The university’s main scientific event has its origins in the “Mining and Metallurgy Day” (abbreviation: BHT), which was established in 1949 and became internationally recognised.

Program
The technical achievements of recent decades have shaped modern life. The associated demand for raw materials and energy is limited by the finite nature of the earth’s natural resources. Efficient production processes, alternative material and energy sources and new recycling methods are needed to avoid harmful ecological and social impacts.
The 74th BHT – FREIBERGER UNIVERSITÄTSFORUM provides an insight into the latest findings from research and development. Interested parties from research, business and society are cordially invited to discuss the latest scientific findings and developments in various specialist areas over the four days of the conference.
