What is semester ticket?
Students at the public universities in Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig have a semester ticket which allows them to travel by bus and train within Saxony on the basis of their student ID cards. They buy the semester ticket with the re-enrolment each semester.
Semester ticket at the TUBAF
The Student’s council (StuRa) is currently determining whether TUBAF students want a semester ticket. It would cost around 120 € (at present, this amount is only an early estimation). further information: https://www.stura.tu-freiberg.de/en/consultation/semesterticket/
Will the semester ticket be optional? – No. If the students vote for it, the semester fee will rise for every student.
Semester ticket vote
The decision of implementing a Semesterticket will be decided democratically by all students. A university-wide survey is planned for this purpose in the summer semester 2022. The final cost of the semester ticket will depend on its result.
The last survey concerning the implementation of a semester ticket at the TUBAF was conducted in 2013. Than, most students decided against a semester ticket.
Please consider this: If the survey of 2022 will show the same result, it will be a setback of several years without a semester ticket.
Please take part in the coming surveys if you are interested in the topic. News will be announced via the circular mailing list Uniinfo.
