Workshop „Communication and democratic decision making“

This workshop is mainly about democracy, tolerance, and communication. Through discussions, reflections, schemes and team work tasks the participants will reflect on the meaning and the process of democratic decision making. The guiding questions will be: How can we implement democracy in our lives and how can we extend our limit of tolerance?

SPRACHE: Der Workshop wird in englischer Sprache angeboten. Sämtliche Teilnehmer müssen über ausreichend gute Englischkenntnisse verfügen.

Beschreibung/Description

This workshop is mainly about democracy, tolerance, and communication. Through discussions, reflections, schemes and team work tasks the participants will reflect on the meaning and the process of democratic decision making. The guiding questions will be: How can we implement democracy in our lives and how can we extend our limit of tolerance?

The workshop also teaches how to enhance communication skills. The underlying method was developed by Prof. Susanne Ulrich & Florian Wenzel, Center of Applied Policy Research, University Munich (LMU).

The lecturer Ali Ezzat Abdelhamid Abdelshafy from Egypt is currently a Master student at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. He has got accreditation as a trainer from Center of Applied Policy Research at Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich and did several workshops in various renowned institutions in Cairo and Alexandria/Egypt, as well as in the USA and Sweden.
