“Hi, my name is Hripsime Gevorgyan (aka: Rippa) and I’m young and enthusiastic scientist from Armenia. I hold both bachelor’s and master’s degrees with honors in Geology and Geological Sciences from the Faculty of Geography and Geology, Yerevan State University, Armenia. Since the 3rd year of bachelor, I have been working in the Laboratory of Volcanology at the Institute of Geological Sciences, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (IGS NAS RA). Afterwards, I was awarded a doctorate with honors in geology from the Institute of Geology, TU BAF. Valuable scientific experience has led me to be involved in several international and local projects focusing on volcanic hazard assessment, petrogenesis and eruption history reconstruction of young stratovolcanoes and super volcanoes from different tectonic settings. As someone who likes to challenge myself, I became a member of EMPOWER, which has been a great platform to develop the skills and knowledge. EMPOWER helped me to get closer in establishing my environmental protection projects. I am very grateful to EMPOWER committee for selecting me in the 2018 program, through which I improved my entrepreneurship skills, knowledge and experience.“
