The Board of Study Affairs (StuKo) is a permanent commission of the Faculty Council and the only university body that is made up of students on an equal footing.
The Board of Study Affairs advises the Faculty Council on the organization of teaching and study operations as well as on circumstances that influence the course of studies. It also revises study and examination regulations to ensure that the course can be completed within the standard period of study, but also to adapt it to the state of the art.
Another important task is the regular survey of students on the quality of teaching (evaluation), which is to be carried out together with the Student Council.
The Board of Study Affairs can submit applications to the Faculty Council for the points mentioned. If the StuKo makes a recommendation, it is binding, unless the Faculty Council decides otherwise with a three fifths-majority. The Dean of Studies must convene the Board of Study Affairs if a third of the members of the Faculty Council so request.
