Praktisches Geschenk zum Neujahrsfest

Am Freitag, den 12. Februar 2021, feiern die chinesischen Studierenden, Promovierenden und Mitarbeitenden an der TU Bergakademie Freiberg das Neujahrsfest. Dann beginnt das Jahr des Büffels, ein Sternzeichen, dem Fleiß, Zuverlässigkeit, Entschlossenheit und Ehrgeiz zugesprochen werden. Rechtzeitig vor dem Fest erreichte sie ein Geschenk aus der Heimat: Eine Laptop-Tasche, gefüllt mit nützlichen Utensilien zum Schutz vor Covid-19. In einem beiliegenden Brief von der chinesischen Regierung wird den Studierenden Mut gemacht angesichts der großen Herausforderungen durch die Corona-Pandemie. Der starke Büffel ist ein Symbol für den Aufschwung. In dem Brief heißt es weiterhin, dass die Pandemie eine weltweite Krise ist, welche die Menschheit nur gemeinsam überwinden kann.

In Freiberg studieren derzeit 206 Chinesen. Das Internationale Universitätszentrum gratuliert Ihnen sowie allen Promovierenden und Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern herzlich und wünscht Ihnen alles Gute im neuen Jahr sowie Erfolg für die bevorstehenden Prüfungen!

Erasmus+ traineeship at the University of Stavanger, Norway available

URGENT! ONE POSITION AVAILABLE FOR INTERNSHIP/ERASMUS+ TRAINEESHIP AT THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE OF UNIVERSITY OF STAVANGER, NORWAY

Department: International Admissions Office at the University of Stavanger (UiS)
Position title: Student Internship/Erasmus+ Traineeship
Duration: Between 6 and 12 months, preferably 1-year duration
Location: Arne Rettedals hus, Kjell Arholms gate 41, 4021 Stavanger, Norway
Starting date: September 2020
Working hours: 9:00-15:00, 30h/week
Accommodation: UiS covers university accommodation cost up to 5000 NOK/month (average cost of student accommodation: 4500 NOK)
Payment: No salary; the student is expected to have an Erasmus+ scholarship or other financial support.
UiS contributes with coverage of accommodation costs (see above).
UiS covers a fee for a Norwegian language course (12 weeks x 4 hours every semester).

Main responsibilities and tasks

Supporting the International Admissions team
Working with different social media channels
Maintaining of Excel sheets, registration of data to student information software
Regular updating of webpages
Contribution to marketing/recruitment and promotion activities
Other tasks can eventually be added, depending on the performance of the intern

Person profile

Student enrolled at a Bachelor’s or Master’s level or a recent graduate who can receive Erasmus+ scholarship or other financial support
Strong English skills (spoken and written), knowledge of other languages is a strong advantage
Strong communication skills and intercultural awareness

Please send your CV together with a cover letter describing why would you like to do an internship at the UiS.
Supply the names and contact details of 2 references (teachers, employers etc.) who can be contacted by the International Admissions Office of UiS.
Skype interview is required.

Call for participation in online survey

The International Office wants to support a Master student of „World Heritage Studies“ at Brandenburg Technical University in Cottbus-Senftenberg with this call. The student is currently writing his master thesis about International Student’s Travelling pattern and their potential to be a target group of the new UNESCO World Heritage Site „Montanregion Erzgebirge“ in Saxony.
For a convincing reference data of the research, he needs to collect at least around 200 responds from international students in different universities in Brandenburg and Saxony.

The data protection laws in Germany are implemented, the survey result will only be used for this research and be stored until December 2020, and afterwards be deleted.
