From 07 to 09 March 2019, the Institute for Mineral Processing Machines of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg will hold its annual Symposium on Mineral Processing in the Municipal Ceremonial Hall of Freiberg for the 14th time. More than 140 industry and business experts – among them machine manufacturers and operators, consultancies, and university researchers – are expected to attend this year’s event.

“Comminution and Classifying – Producing, Characterizing, Drying, Separating and Recycling”

According to this motto, the symposium program comprises a total of 9 technical lectures on current developments in process engineering and plant technology, economic aspects with regard to the current market dynamics, and the latest research findings in the field of processing machines. The focus is set on the comminution and classification of raw materials as well as the modeling and optimization of processing technologies. The presentations will be supplemented by pertinent experience reports.

Evening events on 07 and 08 March in sedate locations in the historic district of Freiberg – the “Schankhaus 1863” and the “Ratskeller”, respectively – round the event program out and offer plenty of opportunities for communication and exchange among experts.

On Saturday, 09 March, symposium participants will also have the opportunity to visit the pilot plant of the Institute for Mineral Processing Machines in the quarry in Breitenau (Oederan) – operated by the Breitenauer Grauwacke GmbH & Co.KG – in which exemplary washing and crushing tests with railway ballast will be demonstrated.

The aim of the Symposium on Mineral Processing is to strengthen and support the link between manufacturers and operators of processing machines on the one hand, and corresponding university research on the other.
