Today marks the start of the 29th International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC) in Moscow – with around 1,500 participants, it is the world’s largest conference on current developments in the processing of mineral raw materials!
The IMPC takes place every two to three years in different locations. Since the congess was first held in London back in 1952, the IMPC has been a major driving force for the promotion of scientific and technological expertise in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy worldwide. It is the most prestigious event in the field of mineral processing in the world today.
In the upcoming days, the Institute of Mineral Processing Machines (IAM) will play its part in the conference with various presentations and posters; beyond that, the IMPC offers numerous networking opportunities through gatherings with friends, acquaintances, partners, and employees from companies and research institutions from all over the world.
Hardly any topic from the realm of mineral processing will remain untouched. From electrical impulse comminution to magnetic separation, from simulation to recycling – almost every problem will be addressed to develop a suitable solution. The official program of the IMPC will span four days and be accompanied by various sightseeing tours around the city of Moscow.
For the fifth and final day, the Metalloinvest Management Company LLC will offer conference participants an opportunity to visit their mining (Lebedinsky GOK in Gubkin) and a steel (Oskol Elektrometallurgical Plant (OEMK) in Stary Oskol) divisions, both of which are located in the Belgorod region.
