Finally the time has come: The construction work for our two new bulk material boxes in the pilot plant of the IAM in a nearby quarry is over; now, nothing stands in the way of researching into new strategies for the processing of native complex ores as part of the AFK joint project!

The samples from the Tellerhäuser and Hämmerlein deposits in the Western Ore Montains that will be stored in the two boxes serve for the geo-metallurgical investigation into these ores in terms of their microstructure and chemical properties using analytical methods. The gained information is then used for a comprehensive system analysis of the individual processing steps and methods of complex ore preparation and their joint optimization in a computer model.

On our institute’s website, you can find a variety of further interesting and current research projects of the Institute of Mineral Processing Machines. And with a subscription to our RSS feed, you will no longer miss a blog post in the future! 🙂
