There is a new call for proposals for Saxon State Scholarships for Doctoral Studies in accordance with the Saxon State Scholarship Ordinance of 06 July 2018, subject to the provision of funding by the Free State of Saxony.
The doctoral project must not have started at the time of application.
The application includes an application letter, an outline of the academic career, master’s degree certificate / diploma including the overview of grades (in the case of students, a current overview of grades), recommendations, a letter of support from the doctoral supervisor as well as a description of the doctoral project (topic, work and time schedule, status of preliminary work) and is to be sent via E-Mail to the Graduate and Research Academy, attn: Ms. Langer, email@example.com.

The deadline for submitting the application is 25th of January 2022.
The application procedure has two stages. The Graduate Commission of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg is responsible for approving the scholarship. In the second stage the payment of the state scholarship (incl. family supplement and material bonus) is to be applied for with the then provided form application at the Studentenwerk Freiberg/BAföG-Amt in case of a positive funding recommendation. It requires a completed university degree, admission to doctoral studies at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and enrolment in graduate studies.
The official start date for the graduate studies and thus for the scholarship is 01 April or 01 October 2022.
The amount of the state scholarship is 1,350 euros per month plus the family allowance (100 euros per child entitled to state child benefit) and special allowances for materials. The scholarship is initially granted for one year and will be extended for a further two years if the progress of the project is positive evaluated.
The Saxon State Scholarship Ordinance (SächsLStipVO) of 6 July 2018 forms the basis for admission to the graduate programme and its funding by the Saxon State Scholarship. The graduate studies are carried out on the basis of the study regulations for graduate studies of 31 July 1995, according to which the standard period of study for graduate studies is three years.
There is no legal entitlement to the granting of a state scholarship.
