Content description
In an era defined by a strong divide between the scientific community and the wider society, dialogue between these realms appears elusive, leaving many researchers feeling powerless and overwhelmed. Even in personal conversations with family and friends, researchers often struggle to find common ground and effectively convey their knowledge.
Science Communication offers a promising solution to this problem. This workshop aims to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of science communication. Together, we will explore crucial topics such as identifying target audiences, selecting appropriate mediums for effective communication, and presenting scientific concepts in a comprehensible manner. Additionally, we will explore alternative approaches that can foster improved dialogue between science and society.
Facilitating this workshop is Dr. Maia George, a dedicated former researcher specializing in the ethical and political philosophy of science.
